Customer Requirements

(Please Read Before Purchasing)

rfdigi.io LLC services under the HAMTell.com website and is designed to build on an existing, working AllStarLink 3 system. These services do not replace initial system setup.

Required System Hardware & Software

You must provide/have one of the following:

  • Raspberry Pi 5, or

  • Debian-based Linux system

The system must:

  • Be powered on and accessible

  • Be currently running one (1) working AllStarLink 3 node

  • Have accessible internet connectivity

  • Be reachable during scheduled installation windows

Systems that are not operational or accessible may require additional services or fees.
RFDigi.io LLC is not currently selling HAMTell.com Service hardware.
Please visit Our Recommended Vendors for hardware.
(Clients can, and are encouraged, to use their existing hardware if it meets the requirements.)


Required Phone & Audio Devices

You must provide compatible hardware:

Required VoIP phone (choose one):

  • Cisco 525G2 (unlocked MPP firmware) ((Best all around speaker phone))

  • Cisco 8832 (unlocked MPP firmware) ((Amazing Speaker Phone!))

  • Cisco 8851 (unlocked MPP firmware) ((Overkill but great display!))

  • Cisco 8841 (unlocked MPP firmware) ((Overkill but great display!))

  • Cisco 8811 (unlocked MPP firmware) ((Overkill but great display!))

Optional devices:

  • One approved Grandstream device (example: HT812)

  • One (or more) rotary or classic touch tone phone

Rotary phones require an approved ATA device. (I.E HT812)

Phones are currently provisioned through our servers /w additional options in development.

(( Most Cisco VoIP phones running MPP firmware should work. ))

Additional SIP based VoIP devices will be become available very soon.


Network & IP Address Requirements

You must provide:

  • A static (publicly accessible) IP address for:

    • The AllStarLink system

    • The VoIP phone(s) (During configuration process only)

If a static IP is not available, add-on solutions are available to assist.
HAMTell.com Helpers can discuss free and paid service/configuration options to assist you with accessing your system.
PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE A STATIC IP ADDRESS IF YOU DON’T ALREADY HAVE ONE.
(There are often less expensive options available then paying monthly fees for static IP’s.)

What’s Included (Service Overview)

All installation tiers use your existing AllStarLink 3 system and include:

  • Configuration for use with one (1) rotary phone

  • Configuration for use with one (1) VoIP phone

  • Future listing in the HAMTell.com directory (when released)


What You Must Provide (All Install Types)

  • Your ham radio callsign

  • The currently installed, configured, and working AllStarLink 3 node number

  • Your admin user and passwords for all devices
  • One additional unused node number (HAMTell.com helpers can assist you with this)

  • The password for the second node (This is not your allstarlink.org login password)


Additional Requirements for Supported Installations

  • SSH access to your node

  • External (public facing) IP address

  • Raspberry Pi or Debian admin username and password

  • Internet access during the scheduled installation window


Add-Ons & Support Upgrades

Optional Add-Ons

These add-ons are available for customers who want to upgrade support or for DIY users when things become unexpectedly tricky.

If your system does not already meet networking or access requirements, additional services may be needed.

Available Add-On

  • Managed DNS + domain: $45

  • Reverse SSH Support: $30

  • Automated Backups: $30

  • *Priority Support: $50

Additional services may be recommended depending on system readiness.

Scheduling, Accessibility & Fees

Installation Scheduling & Accessibility Policy

Your system must be accessible and operational during the scheduled installation window.

Required during installation:

  • SSH access

  • Correct admin credentials

  • A stable high speed internet connectivity


Rescheduling Fees

If installation cannot proceed due to:

  • Incorrect credentials

  • SSH unavailable

  • Network or firewall restrictions

  • System offline or unreachable

  • Hardware, network, or software not ready or available

A rescheduling fee may apply.


Additional Service Fees

If it is discovered that:

  • AllStarLink is not functioning

  • Required services are unavailable

  • Troubleshooting exceeds the purchased tier

Additional fees may apply before work can continue.

 


 

Refund & Cancellation Policy

All installation scripts and services are custom-generated per order.

Refunds

  • Refunds are not permitted once work has begun

Cancellations

  • Allowed only before:

    • Installation software is created, and

    • Any services have started

Once work begins or software generated, the order is non-refundable.


Customer System Access & Authority Checklist

(Required Acknowledgement)

Before proceeding, you will need to confirm:

☐ You own the system or have explicit permission from the owner
☐ You are authorized to grant administrative access
☐ Understand and Approve SSH access that enables us full system access and control
☐ Admin credentials are correct
☐ Changing your credentials may incur additional fees and service delays
☐ The system must be accessible during scheduled times to avoid additional fees
☐ Reverse SSH (if used) is understood (SSH and Reverse SSH are similar but different)
☐ VoIP phones are not telephones
☐ Ringing is a notification only (I.E. This is not a phone you can use to place or receive calls)
☐ You are at least 18 years old
☐ You have authority to grant access and to request this service
☐ You are responsible for all compliance and required licensing (I.E. FCC Part 97 Compliance)
☐ You have are responsible for lawful system operations
☐ This service is not intended for GMRS, FRS, MURS, or other non-amateur service use
☐ This service is intended only for US based customers only
